I'm yet to pair the shade with my MAC Soar lip liner, but as soon as I do, I'll be sure to give you the deets. Velvet Teddy is a Matte lipstick, but it’s not very drying and glides on smoothly, unlike let’s say MAC Ruby Woo. It's creamy in texture, long lasting and neither drying nor hydrating. However, the shade is wearing on me, applied lightly onto the lips, or paired with a swipe of MAC's Brave lipstick its pretty much perfection. Admittedly something I'm not used to and something my Mum voiced she wasn't a fan of. But applied directly onto my lips it's more of a muted medium-dark beige with a pink undertone. But nevertheless, this matte shade from MAC is worthy of its cult status - could it possibly be the best nineties nude? Velvet Teddy is described as "deep-tone beige" with a matte finish. The packaging is sturdy and travel friendly and it comes with a subtle vanilla fragrance. Bur fast forward a few months and we all now know that isn't necessarily the truth. MAC Best Teddy Lipglass (17.50) is one of several new lipglosses that launched with the MAC In Monochrome Collection for Spring 2019. The MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick comes in the regular sleek black bullet packaging as with all standard MAC lipsticks.
Velvet Teddy has an acclaimed reputation as the lip product behind Kylie Jenner's infamous pout and consequently was a sell out.
So, it wasn't long until I popped the ever so popular shade into my basket and on its arrival straight onto my lips. After putting out feelers via a Twitter poll as what MAC lipstick I should purchase next (enabling at its best), MAC Velvet Teddy came out top, dominating 48% of the vote.
